CT Scans Deland

CT Scan Services Deland

Computer Tomography (CT) scans-also known as CAT Scans-reveal both bone and soft tissues, including organs, muscles and tumors. CT exams are used when people are ill or injured, or when a physician suspects a medical problem that is not easily detectable from a conventional physical examination. Image tones can be adjusted to highlight tissues of similar density, and through graphics software, the data from multiple cross-sections can be assembled into 3-D images. This type of scan aids in diagnosis, surgery or other treatment, including radiation therapy, in which effective dosage is highly dependent on the precise density, size and location of a tumor.

CT Scans are typically used on the following parts of the body:

  • Brain
  • Heart and blood vessels
  • Head and face, including sinuses
  • Chest, stomach and pelvic areas
  • Spine, bones and joints

New CT Scan Technology

Florida Hospital DeLand has incorporated one the most advanced diagnostic tools for helping physicians reach confident diagnoses at Victoria Imaging in Victoria Medical Park. The new LightSpeedŽ VCT XT configured system from GE Healthcare delivers high quality images of the human body with lowered radiation dose.

"The addition of the GE LightSpeed VCT XT configured system complements and extends the range of quality diagnostic services that Victoria Medical Park offers residents," Sergio Pineiro, DO, Chief Radiologist at Florida Hospital DeLand, says. "It provides us with vastly improved image quality and imaging speed, and enhances the overall diagnostic confidence we have in all of our studies."

The GE LightSpeed VCT XT configured system non-invasively assists physicians in the diagnosis of a variety of anatomical areas.

A patient-friendly exam involving little radiation exposure, CT is covered by most insurance plans

Important Information Regarding Your Procedure

If your insurance company requires a referral or authorization number for diagnostic testing, you MUST have the referral or authorization number with you at the time of your exam. If you arrive for your exam without this information, we will attempt to get the referral/authorization number from your physician's office or insurance company, but please realize that your exam may have to be rescheduled. Thank you for your cooperation.
