Ultrasound Services Deland
Ultrasound scans obtain images from inside the human body through the use of high-frequency sound waves, detecting certain pathology in the abdomen and pelvic regions. It is a safe, painless procedure with no known side effects or risks.
Innovative Ultrasound Technology
Victoria Medical Park DeLand has acquired a new, high tech ultrasound system from GE Healthcare, The LOGIQ E9 for their Imaging facility.
This new system gives Victoria Medical Park Imaging the ability combine the information from a previous study with the images produced during their ultrasound. This ability to combine previous CT, MRI, PET, or Ultrasound results allows Victoria Medical Park DeLand Imaging doctors and staff to broaden their assessment so that they can provide diagnosis and therapy guidance with higher confidence.
Volume Navigation, the name GE gives to this new capability, uses a technology similar to the technology found in the Nintendo® Wii video game system. "Just like the Wii," says Wesley Harden, Imaging Director at Florida Hospital DeLand, "there's a way to sense the motion of the doctor's hand. With Wii, I can move my hands to play bowling, or golf, or whatever. On the new LOGIQ E9, we use the technology to tell the ultrasound system precisely where we are scanning. This allows us to combine the best of CT or MRI with the best of Ultrasound. We expect that our doctors and patients will be able to be more consistently confident in the test results."
Healthcare quality and healthcare efficiency are obviously national issues. With the addition of the LOGIQ E9 to the Imaging Department, Victoria Imaging takes an important step toward improvements in both. Studies have shown more than 50% reductions in exam time with this innovation. Victoria Imaging intends to use this efficiency to provide enough capacity to focus more on personalized patient care.
The LOGIQ E9 provides a remarkable level of ultrasound quality using a new technology called "Agile Ultrasound." The traditional ultrasound image is made using sound waves travel through the body. Agile ultrasound uses the same basic technique, but now accounts for differences in body and tissue type and adjusts the sound processing in response. The result is that the quality of images is noticeably better on almost every patient, and Victoria Imaging doctors expect to be able to provide more confident diagnoses as a result.
Important Information Regarding Your Procedure

If you arrive for your exam without this information, we will attempt to get the referral/authorization number from your physician's office or insurance company, but please realize that your exam may have to be rescheduled. Thank you for your cooperation.
